Don't really wanna spend over $300.  In your opinion what is the best rod for fishing 3/4 oz football jigs in deep water?

Good point.  Do you own this rod?  I had a 734c and found it to be a bit stiff at the tip.  I bet the extra 5 inches would give it a little softer tip.

I was lucky enough to score a used one of these rods for $180 and man am I glad. If you can't score this, try the champ 764. It has abit more power as it was designed for c Rigs. My friend was actually recommended as an a rig rod as well.

I don't own it anymore but I used to. Got on with another company. And thats weird that you felt that way about the 734c because I found a 3/4 oz jig overpowering for that rod. The DX784 is awesome tho. It's made for deep water with a soft tip to help on hooksets.

Just curious, but how would you find the 734c to be overpowered but not the DX784? It seems like the extra length would only allow a 3/4 oz jig to overpower the rod even more being that they are both 4 power rods. Does the DX784 have more backbone?

Right on.  Good suggestion on the 764.  

The 745 does really well with 3/4oz footballs

If you think a 4 power Dobyn's jig rod has too stiff of a tip you are in trouble trying to fish jigs horizontally.

I suggest a 5 power jig rod being minimum for casting 3/4 oz football jigs in deep water.

I do just fine fishing football jigs with rods that have a softer tip than a 734c.  I actually land more fish and cast a little bit farther too.  I use braid with a fluoro  leader so hooksets from way out or way down aren't a problem.  

I love my megabass orochii xx 7'9" Aaron martens for fishing 3/4oz deep structure jigging. Just another rod to consider at $300

I used to fish the DX 745 and thought it was a decent jig rod, I also have  GLX 894. Earlier this year a bought a KLX 7ft. heavy and it's just a great 1/2 -3/4 oz. jig rod. I'm really surprised just how good that rod is at any price but for under $ 200 it's a steal.. worth a look..

Have 1 and have used it for 6 years or so only throwing football Jigs...3/4oz should be just fine with this rod as I use 1/2-3/4 all the time without issues... I use 15lb tatsu and can drill fish from a long distance with the rod being so long...It has a soft enough rod to launch baits and Ive used it to skip jigs under docks, but its a tad long for that..

Not really versed in rods around the $300 mark. I usually spend a lot less, but that's just me. If I was going to buy an expensive rod it would be a Loomis or a Dobyns. The Pinnacle Perfecta worm and Jig Rod looks mighty interesting as well.

I have used 1/2 oz to 1oz jigs with it....1/2 and 3/4th the most common. No problems at all with the 3/4oz. I fish from shore, but the lake I fish is about 30ft deep where I cast.  I also use it to fish paddle tail swimbaits, top water frogs, spinnerbaits and swim jigs. 

The lamiglas INF735C is a excellent jig rod for casting jigs like football in 1/2+. The problem is the OP doesn't like stiff tip rods and this rod doesn't fit his preferences. The NRX series also are stiff tip rods.

Mt personal custom jig rods are very similar to the INF735, except they have split handle and short fore grips with micro guides. PM for details if interested about $250 each for ALX.

My average cast is about 90' anywhere from 3' to 40' deep, targeting bass over 10 lbs.

I was under the same impression.  If the tip is like the Dobyns 735c, I probably won't be into it. I've gotten too used to the 7'3 H TFO, and really like it, but I kind of want something a little more balanced and lighter. The tip on that rod is very soft, softer than any other heavy rod I've came across. 

If that rod truly goes by it's lure weight rating, then it seems like the tip would have to be soft. 1/4-1 1/2 oz? Awfully broad for a rod with a stiff tip it seems. Same broad lure weight rating as a zbone le.  I've messed around with one, and they definitely have the tip I'm looking for but a bit pricy.
