When ? Whenever you want, it makes no differnce at all, actually I prefer smoke to clear because I can see it better.

Smoke blends almost perfectly with stained water (Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers specifically).

I use smoke....

I feel like it almost acts like sunglasses when underwater. When the sun hits clear line it gives off a glare under the water. The smoke mutes it a bit. Same concept with green line.

Just another personal preference thing.... Basically everything in fishing is. I prefer a colored line (generally Low Vis Green) because I can see it better.

Use it in the same conditions you would run strait braid

I use clear, smoke and green color. The smoke line is the better choice for my eyes when line watching a weightless senko. If fishing gin clear water it might not be the first choice, but the waters in NE Ohio usually have some stain to them. I had never heard of, or seen line in a smoke color until I found a 1lb spool of YoZuri Hybrid in 10#. I'm so happy I jumped on that!
