I have two & really like them. You can pick one up for $300 JDM.

Probably the best all around performer out there today. Its does everything very well.

I like mine.  Maybe too much!

You can't like a Shimano too much. It's forbidden. Check your warranty, I think it's near the bottom of the back page.

Shimano is Japanese for "BOY I REALLY LOVE THIS REEL"...honest.

I especially like how you guys use them to routinely sling casts well beyond my fruitless efforts . . .

theres a new model next month?

There's already some info floating around, but it should be fully unveiled at the Osaka show the first week of February.

This will be my next reel purchase. Been eyeing one for a long time now except I have evaded the bait monkey...

Got the HG and XG and agree that they are exceptional in weight and performance. One thing I've noticed that is a minor irritant for me is how the water from my braided line is funneled down and saturates my finger as I palm the reel, but no biggy. I would imagine them coming out with a new Metanium, last time I stocked up on GLX's the NRX was introduced.

You can run from the Bait Monkey but you can't hide, he'll always catch ya. Brian.

It's not a replacement or anything, the metanium that's out right now will still be available. The DC is more of a bonus edition.

I wonder how much will the DC version weigh? I hope it'll be under 7oz. I really want to buy the Exsence DC but at 8.5oz it's a tad heavy for me.

It weighs in at 190 grams or 6.7 ozs.

I really enjoy both of mine. They feel great in the hand and are so smooth casting and retrieving. I'm still using a Curado I for frogs because I'm scared to really punish either of the Metanium 13s.
