To the jig experts....

What is the difference between silicone, round rubber, and flat rubber skirt materials as far as action, and looks?

Thanks,

Braden

Personally, I think you get more action out of rubber, round or flat.  Round will give you a bigger profile.  Drawback...color selection.  There just isn't many colors that I've found for round rubber skirts.  I'm not a big fan of flat rubber.

Silicone is a good skirt and can give you a ton of bulk, good action, and phenominal color choices.  The number of colors is limitless but that's not what catches my eye, it's the patterns that can be and are printed on the skirts.  Scales, "barbed wire" and camo patterns all help add to the natural apperance, which is really important on skittish fish in clear water.

The brown jig on the left appears thinner but I'm sure that's related to the angle of the shot. Otherwise I can't really notice much of a difference. Am I missing something?

Do you ever catch anything in there? ;D

I'm confused.  Is that a fish tank or are the jigs weightless? ;D

oops thats what happens when you post when your in a hurry.

The brown one is round rubber and the blk blue is silicone.  If I would have had a video it would have been better.  The rubber moved more and floated better then the silicone did.

Nope didnt catch anything.  The fish were scared because the jig was bigger then them.

When I kept freshwater fish that little stunt there would have cost me a new tank lid.  The little bass I had in the tank was crazy.  He would have tried to eat both those jigs at the same time and then proceeded to destroy his tank.  That fish broke more tank lids triing to catch the crickets that are in the basement then any other fish I have ever owned.  I finnally had to release him back into the wild.
