Looking To Pick Up A New White Buzz Bait And Maybe A Double Buzz Bait

Featured Replies

I am thinking about getting either a Warrior or Cavitron white buzz bait.
Any input on one of these or the other?

Would you want more or less noise for a white/clear water buzz bait?

I have one of each of them in black and both work well.

Also anyone have a good recommendation on a double buzz bait.
Color for a close to all around one for Michigan waters?

I would say you want less noise in clearer conditions, but I'm not really sure... I don't really have a whole lot of experience fishing buzzbaits in clear water during the day.. I'm sure someone knows! If they could tip me off, they may have to become a clear water option for me as well! Also, for color all around, I would say you couldn't go wrong with white, black, and white/chartreuse.

Best double buzzbait I have used is the d and m double hammer, black is my go to.

Cavitron is all I use. You might check out the Ghost Minnow color for really clear water. Honestly, I've had great success in water with >10' visibility with my old stand by black on black cavitron.

I am gonna pick up some cavitrons for next season, what do you think of the black with red blade?

It's just as good as the black on black, I just go with the black on black to keep it simple. You won't be disappointed, first time I fished a Cavitron I had a 20+ pound limit on nothing else.

When you get on a good buzzbait bite its best to have two rigged up. One that goes left and one that goes right. You want to whack cover with them .  Which ever you choose look at the way the prop spins then find another brand that goes the other way. My best combo is the Original Lunker Lure and a generic store brand .

You mean you already own a Cavitron and you're still considering a different brand?!

As i mentioned before..in clear shallow water..go with the more subtle buzzbait..i have seen way too many wakes in the water with a noisier buzzbaits..i use s.k. tri-vibe but go with the buzzbait that makes the least noise.

You will be fine with one black and one white. Once the ice melts!!

Strike king.

I really like the Cavitron, but the Warrior Warpath is an awesome buzz bait, I would look into it if you guys are looking to try a new one.
The Warrior can be fished more slowly, and has a clacker.

I just figured with white the less noisy and somewhat "faster" one would not be a bad idea.

A big plus for the Cavitron. But if you like to throw them where you might not get them back (like I do), try the D&M Buzz Saw. Free swinging EWG that you can rig your trailer of choice weedless. It's a very well made bait also.

I know it's not your original question brand but.....

You should really look at the Omega Tackle Alpha Shad buzz

Or.......

Croc-O-Gator Head Knocker buzz
