Rigging A Johnson Weedless Spoon

Recommended Posts

I have been fishing with a Johnson Weedless spoon last year and have run into a small problem.  I use an Uncle Josh "black widow eel" either a number 140 or a 160 pork rind bait.  I keep losing the black widow eel.  Any suggestions to help keep the eel on but still have the spoon run true?

Switch to a 4 inch plastic twister tail. Thread it on an inch or so. I find the pork trailer just kills the action of the spoon. I like to use a white or yellow twister tail but any color would probably work.

Good question. I always had a hard time removing the things. Maybe they are making them  different than the ones I use to use .

you could always use a whole punch and a plastic butter lid. Save the disc and put it over the hook after the eel is on. Thats how I keep trailer hooks on.
