I kind of have an unusual problem.I've had both knees replaced,the left one twice,and it's been a nitemare.My knee stays tight,hard to bend it,can't walk any distance.When I get out of my boat,I must sit on the front deck,kind of lay down and swing my left leg over the side.So it's hard to go alone.I really only go if my son can go,or if i'm lucky to find someone.

... do you catch more fish when fishing alone or when fishing with a buddy?

Alone.

when i take a buddy, i feel pressure to put them on fish b/c i want them to have a good time.  so i always end up fishing small fish baits and patterns and usually have a great time catching a bunch.  plus, when you're with a good friend, you always end up shootin' the breeze, joking around, etc. rather than actually concentrating hard on the fishing.  when i'm alone, i can dedicate all my mental energy to the fishing.  if i'm by myself, one fish is enough as long as it's THE one.

I prefer to fish with someone because imo there's nothing worse then catching the pb and having no one there to share in the excitement. I get just as excited when my buddy catches a big one as I would if it were me. Not saying I don't go at it alone but would rather have a buddy along.

I tell anyone that goes fishing with me that I'm out to go fishing. If I catch a fish that's a bonus.

Set the expectation low........and no worries.

And the time we spend fishing has always been a great time..........every time!

One of the perks of teaching/coaching is I know my fishing partner!

The first student I taught is my #1 tournament partner, we have fished together for close to 30 years.

My fishing partner (Coldsvt) and I have been fishing together for 30 years now. I have fished with others but there's nobody else I enjoy fishing with more. He shares my passion and we always have a ton of laughs. We fish tournaments together and have had those grind it out kind of days, but even on the worst fishing days we share a laugh.

When either of us do fish alone, we text pics of fish caught to each other.

I'm an aging loner who has begun to think that fishing with a buddy may be safer than going it alone all of the time, especially at night.  I'm wondering if there may be an additional benefit to fishing with another... Do you (individually) catch more bass when fishing with a friend or when fishing alone?

I feel like I catch more.  Just having another guy in the boat ensures that you will get a broader sense of what the fish are after.  Maybe they'll be keying on something you wouldn't have thrown, who knows??

 

It's just more fun, and you get better pics with a friend there.  It's hard to be a social drinker when you're alone too, so there's that haha

I'm a very lucky man who was blessed with the world's greatest fishing partner (over 50 years now).

Be that as it may, when you're in the company of another person, your thoughts and your choices are compromised.

When I'm alone, I make decisions, take chances and run experiments that I would not impose on others.

Though I don't fish alone very often, several of my best stringers and biggest fish have been boated while fishing alone.
