link says page not found. whats rod called?

I was actually read this article in BM last night I THINK it's called zodiak or something like that - if memory serves correct.

SHIMANO ZODIAS ROD SERIES
This company’s newest rod series offers casting and spinning rods in actions and lengths for accuracy, long distance or finesse, depending on your need. All the rod blanks feature Hi-Power X construction, eliminating blank twist for both better casting distance and accuracy. Plus, Fuji semi-
micro stainless steel frame guides and CI4+ reel seats add to overall sensitivity and strength. The rods will retail from $189.99 to $199.99, depending on the model.

Shimano now owns G. Loomis. It's odd that both subsidiaries would introduce new

rods at virtually identical pricing points.

My only thought would be that they're fully intending on keeping the branding different, and letting people pick which brand they're partial to. Competing with themselves isn't all that bad, they get money either way people go.

I am partial to cork grips, and I am getting older and more set in my ways by the minute.

I couldn't agree more. Honestly I feel cheated if I'm not getting triple grade cork grips. The only time I'd let it slide is for carbon fiber.

I've read a lot about these rods, they are very interesting, especially at their price point. They are a global Shimano product but I've read that the actions were developed in the US. Their design though looks more JDM then USDM. While I prefer cork for the price I could see one of these in my stable. Some folks who have handled say the new reel seats are very comfortable.

For anyone interested The Tackle Trap has them on their website now and available for preorder.

I will be getting one more than likely. The only current Shimano rod currently in production that is of any interest to me.

I got to hold this rod today. Looks to be a good rod at this price point. Very light and well made. I prefer cork grips, so doubt I'll buy one, but I was impressed with the rods
