Does Any Other State Do This?

Featured Replies

NJ does it a couple times a year.

Wisconsin had a midwinter and midsummer free fishing weekend. Great idea. Gets the Moms and Pops out with the kids.

VA has two days every year I think.

SC does it on July 4th and Memorial day

Michigan has two free fishing weekends. One Memorial day weekend, and another in January for ice fishing. Or steelhead, or whatever else you catch when it's butt cold outside.

I'm pretty sure Kentucky does it for a weekend. Good program..there's a local lake that setups a day to coincide with it where they give away fishing stuff to the kids.

VA does indeed have a free weekend tied to Take A Kid Fishing. Their weekend is usually in the first half of June

Yes, PA does it also. I believe twice a year.

To be honest I don't know if Mass does or not, but they generally don't give anything away for free.

Kansas does. The first full weekend in June is free fishing weekend.

Sounds like it's a great few days to introduce someone to the sport!
