You guys with multiple pairs of sunglasses, do you stick with one pair with a certain color lens or do you keep multiple pairs each with different color lenses for certain conditions? or multiple pairs with the same color lens for all conditions? 

 

I currently use a pair of BPS XPS Bluefins with blue mirror lenses.  I have a pair of Oakley Fast Jackets that need some polarized lenses, but I'm not sure what color to get.

I use Costa's and like the Green Mirror lenses or the Rose color lenses.  They do the best at showing structure and fish in the water.   Especially good in low light conditions.

You cannot go wrong with amber or just smoked gray glasses. Polarized of course.

I really like light brown.  My optician told me that light brown/darker amber/things in that range offer the best protection against eye fatigue over long periods of time in glare and sun.  I forget why, but I believe it after making the switch from a gray/black tint.  I really like the Smith Chroma Pop lenses (if I'm remembering the name correctly) as it is an extremely high contrast lens that is insanely functional.  Glare doesn't exist, and it even works great in low light situations like overcast skies, driving in the rain, etc.  This is coming from someone who has pretty terrible eyesight and has to wear prescription lenses pretty much 24/7.  I've tried a lot of different companies over the years.  

 

 

It's all personal preference though, so try a bunch and see what is best for you.  Plan on splurging though, you definitely get what you pay for with performance optics.

In bright sunny conditions, I like the grey polarized. When it is overcast, I still need to see into the water so I use the amber polarized lenses and in low light, I use the yellow polarized.

I have a pair of prescription, polarized, amber sunglasses that I really like.  Got them at the vision center at Wal Mart. 

I use Amber SK11's these work fine for me in all conditions.

I have a pair of grey Oakleys and just bought a pair of amber lenses for my Fuel Cells. I think I'm gonna love the amber lenses.

day time, but if it is a darker, cloudy

day I'd rather use a lighter polarized

This is probably the best use of different colors. Your amber/yellow lenses enhance things in low light. I have Oakleys and like the Fire Iridium lens. It's an amber, contrast enhancing lens.

The other good outdoor, contrast enhancing Oakley lens is their G30 lens. This would be good in sunny conditions; and the Fire Iridium in low light.

Depending on your eyes, you may be able to get away with the Fire Iridium lens all around.

The good thing about the Fast Jackets I have is it is easy to swap out lenses.  With all the replies it looks like I might have to just pick up a couple different colors and change em for the conditions that day.  Thanks all

Its easy, check the conditions for that day, change em before I leave or when I get to the ramp.  Either way, they are pretty simple to change out and I don't plan on constantly switching back and forth throughout the day.

Three pairs (with a back up for each) Bright sun: Costas Permits w/ green mirrored 580 lenses. Part Sun/cloud (every day pair): Smith Shelters w/brown lenses. Cloudy/low light: Smith Chambers w/ignitor rose lenses. My back ups are the same except for Costas Cats, & Smith Shelters w/gray lenses. If I was going to pick just one pair it would be the Shelters.

If you want just one pair, check out Smith's with the Chromapop photochromic rose lenses (can wear them 24hrs a day, and Rx compatible). Want the best interchangeable lense system, Natives (and it's made in U.S.).

I wear prescription glasses and use brown polarized clip ons. Brown seems to bring out colors better .

Dark gray when the sun is out and amber for low light conditions. I bought a couple pairs of the SK S11 glasses cheap and keep them in the boat glove box.

Grey when it's super bright and sunny and amber for everything else. I also prefer the amber color for driving.

Amber for most waters, but a pea-green lens for weedy areas...

I like bronze and amber lens colours for just about every condition. They work great out on the water.

I just purchased the Costas with copper 580P lens. I hope that they will work well for my water conditions. I'll keep you all posted.
