What do you guys do? Im not going to shell out $50 for a shimano box with a crack in it. Why cant a company produce a product designed for jerkbaits??

I've been putting all of my new tackle inside... Plano 3771 (Thin) CDS StowAways. With the straight and angled dividers you can design it how you like. I've been able to fit 14 of the 300 sized jerkbaits (3 hook model) into them, and even the Thin size can still fit 14 larger sized baits like Strike King 6XD's. They are very lightweight and trim to save on space and are also that standard 3700 size.

I'd love a box like that but I can't find any, so I use an old 3600 series box that was made for one of those Bass Pro Shops, or Cabelas worm kits. I got it at a yard sale for 50 cents and I can put 4 jerkbaits in 1 slot but I only put 2 and my expensive ones get a slot by themselves.

I use a Plano Elite Medium Crankbait organizer. The slots are about perfect to put two jerkbaits in each one end-to-end. They don't cost much and, not seeing one in front of me, I think one will hold 16 typical jerks. I could be wrong, but it's at least 16.

looks like what ill have to do. Ive got way to many jerkbaits though. 

I also use the thin 3700 size box, a few of them.

I just looked at my Plano 3707 (medium crankbait). It has 11 slots and easily holds 22 jerks. That's two per compartment, but they are narrow and they don't get hung on each other. Less than $15.

plano 3707 medium crank bait is what I use. Stores jerkbaits perfectly.

I use this Plano. Its a little deeper then a 3700

 

3701's. There's no way I could use a Shimano box, they take up too much space.

This is one of the reasons I decided on the Thin size, if you have more than 14, you can get another box and then be able to store 28, and so on. Two boxes stacked are almost the same height as a standard sized box. The numbers are of course if you are picky like me and only want 1 bait per slot... you could easily fit 2 per slot if you really wanted. If you don't care about them getting tangled or hook rash you could buy a standard size or large size and put a bunch in each slot, and use hook bonnets to help prevent them becoming a tangled mess.

Put them all in a blue "Crown Royal" bag and yank on them until you pull one out. That will be the "chosen one".

Looks good. I use mine for crankbaits, might pick another up to try for jerkbaits.

I know I have mind separated by brands and stored in different Plano boxes.  I can't recall the number of the boxes right now.  Thin ones, but not the angled dividers.  I like to store them one bait per compartment and so I just bought several boxes.

 

No matter what kind of box one decided on, those green treble hook protectors are very helpful.   I put those on nearly every hard bait I have in storage.   They are a good idea to save both your fingers while you are looking through baits and over time they protect the hooks as well.

I need to get the hook guards. Currently using a 3700 and everytime i go for a bait 5 come with it.

I fill a Plano 3600 box with as many assorted hard baits as will fit.  I'm sure I spend less time untangling hooks than I would fiddling with plastic hook covers or looking through multiple boxes for what I want to throw.

I used to be anal about one lure per section of a 360 box.  After seeing a few videos of pros with boxes stuffed with 3, 4, 5 cranks mashed in together, I decided if a pile of cranks jumbled together is good enough for KVD, its good enough for me.   I may not be given a dozen new ones to replace the ones with a bit of hook-rash, but honestly, they never get bad enough for me to worry about.

I smile when you refer to "hook rask"... I've intentionally scraped the paint from the belly and/or backs of many of my jerkbaits and cranks; painted with markers on others.  Are those baits supposed to be fished all nice and new looking???
