What do you guys think about these while fishing cranks and top water? I picked up a pack to try and have read mixed reviews. Some guys love them and some guys say they lose lures and fish because of malfunction. They look like they would be an advantage if you change baits often, somthing I may not be doing enough of because of having to re-tie all the time. Thank for the info.

Never had a Norman clip fail, others have failed me many times. The only downfall is when the clip or hands are wet it is very hard to keep open. I end up using a needle nose pliers to keep the clip open.

Last year I ordered a 50 pack of them and couldn't be happier.

One bonus is the design is really clean, so when used with jigs it seems to snag less weeds than other clips that usually have a little bit of wire sticking out.

I've read through the hundreds of reviews and came to the conclusion that metal does fatigue and it's just a matter of time a speed clip will let one of my lures fly away.

I switched over to the Spro Split SnapS and couldn't be happier

Tried 'em. Didn't like them. Just weren't as easy to use as I expected.

I use them on a drop shot weight so I can change the weight out fast.

Tried them and switched to the owner welded snaps. I would never use any snap on a jig.

I have come to like the kahara brand of clips myself.  and as AJ said I would never use a snap on a jig.  Really only thing I use them on us cranks.

I use them mainly on my baitcaster and swimbait rods. I've only used the large size. Haven't had a problem yet.

I use them on cranks and on Jika Rigs and eliminate the o-ring. Never had a problem.

Use a duolock in cool weather with light leaders, hand get slippery. Normally tie, reduces my impatience to change lures too often.

I also forgot! I also use the Speed clips on Jika rigs,it works great on that too. You can go from fishing deep to shallow in seconds by just changing weights!

Good for: small hands, warm water, 6-10lb line, treble hook applications, crankbait type rods.

 

Bad for: big hands, cold water, 12lb+, stout hooks, MH+ rods

 

Catch a fish, check ur line.

Fish around rock/cover, check ur line.

Fish for an hour, check ur line.

 

Use any type of speed clip/duo snap, check ur line.
