This Fool The Child

Featured Replies

I just asked my six year old what a yellow fruit that grows on a tree is called. Child looks me dead in the eye and says, "An orange." How the hell is an orange yellow. It's named after a color.

And yes I have seen oranges which are a yellowish shade before.

Well, what is the answer, a grapefruit, a banana,?

But, in this case, it doesn't appear that the orange has fallen very far from the tree.

Lemon? Banana? Apple? Whats the point of this thread other than calling your child a fool in public?

What is the point of asking what the point of this thread is ?

Pears, peaches, pineapples.

I think pineapples actually grow as 1 up from a ground plant thing.

The bananas at Walmart are green I'm afraid to say...

Your walmart has a banana tree? COOL! Wish mine had that! Getting tired of picking the apples in there, need some variety!

Aren't lemons green also, before ripening?

That sounds right, and don't they grow upside down (pointing to the sky)?

Bananas aren't the only thing that's green at Wal-Mart.

Maybe the kid is colorblind...

No tree inside walmart, but a employee ensured me the green bananas came from a tree, although I cannot say... They also have green (red delicious) apples,. We ( guys in my squadron) knocked some coconut's out of a tree in Puerto Rico and drank the milk.. We soon were running for the John.. This was way before it was vogue to drink coconut milk to elicit a bowel movement.. That's all I got on fruits fellas!

A banana was the answer. Apparently I forgot to add that.

This fool is a saying. It has nothing to do with negatively calling someone foolish or making fun of them in a hateful way.

Best answer yet

I think you're correct.  One pineapple per plant.  Does that make them not a fruit?

I see that most of us are still battling frozen water.

To which he responded, "Father, what continent?  In Brazil they have the Platonia, which grows in the rain forest."

Great post and follow ups.

Love it when Raider opens his heart to us about what is going on in his life.

if my grandson had given me the answer Raider received I would have been on the floor laughing my fanny off.

Maybe Raider's the one that taught her colors...

Now now, go easy on Raider.  Most of his posts have no point.

He posts on here because he loves us, or because it's the only place he can get people to interact with him.

I post, you decide.

starfruit.  underrated and overpriced.  but still...starfruit.
