Aluminum Bass Boat Comparison

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I know that there's a lot of interest on this site about aluminum bass boats (ABB) that all the major manufacturers seem to be coming out with and I'm interested too. I don't have the money right now but I will so I thought I'd put together a little chart that listed the most common ABBs and their specs so it could be viewed and kind of see everything in one place.

I hope someone finds this useful if you are in the market for an ABB. I started to inlcude a base price for them but the first one I went to get the price for listed the boat separately from the motor, trolling motor, trailer, etc. Others seem to have a packaged deal that included all of that then you could add additional options.

EDIT:

I updated the comparison page adding deadrise, livewell capacities, max rod length and storage length where I could find it. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Mike

I looked at the Ranger RT 188.. Fell in love at first sight.. But when I took it for a test run, its really smooth, and spacious.. I would go with the Ranger.!

Xpress Hyper-lift hull, nothing close ;)

X19 ;)

You may want to look at, or add to your list Seaark boats. They have higher h.p. ratings for their hulls than most you have listed.

May want to add livewell capacity as well unless I missed it here.

I know when I bought my boat 5 or six years ago there were two most important things for me- price which is missing from here, and beam so it would fit in my garage.

I should have left price lower as I should have compared more boats, and most likely would have ended up with something els.

Thanks for posting this! I'm just starting to look at aluminum boats as a possibility after moving and this is a good guide.  I didn't even know Ranger was making an aluminum bass boat!

Ranger rt 188 Love it!!!

You must have never ridden in an Xpress hyper-lift hull

Xpress is the closest ride to a glass boat that you can get.  The lift is incredible.

Most spec sheets on the boats I listed don't show livewell capacity. Wish they did as that is an important consideration. I would also have liked to put the max rod length in the rod box but that wasn't available in the spec lists either.

I'll try to add them and repost the list.

Yep, lockable rod box length is mandatory info for me. Live well capacity, too.

War Eagle is another brand I looked at recently. Probably couple of others.

Triton TX18. Same hull as Ranger but much better looking dash. Trailer is all welded not bolted on wench like Ranger. :nike:

Fixed the G3 HP error. I'll try to get War Eagle in there as well. I know that Sea Ark and Xpress both have 21' versions of their boats, but I didn't put them in there. Worried a little about how big this thing will get if I try to put everything in there.

I was a little shocked to see it appears Smokercraft discontinued the 171 pro bass model.

It's no longer on their website.

It was there last year.

Huge market with multiple manufacturers .

Must be they couldn't find their spot. I don't see sny out there.

In fact I have never even seen another personally.

That's okay by me, I got mine and will enjoy fishing out of it.

You're correct, I have not.

I traveled around my state attending the boat shows were I could evaluate each boat I wanted to consider up close.
