High Visibility Line Or Not For Soft Plastics

Featured Replies

I just got in some Sunline FX2 braid that is black/blue color and wow, I cannot see this. For fishing soft plastics, not good! I can't see the line! Sometimes I know I got a fish because I see the line moving.

I have never tried fluorocarbon, curious to use it. Is it any good for soft plastics (fluke, worm, creature baits)? BTW, the water around here is pretty stained. I fish mostly heavy cover lakes. No rocks but lots of snags. (Louisiana)

Do you favor high vis line?

I use Trilene Big Game in Solar color. I gotta be able to see my line when fishing jigs and bottom bouncing soft plastics.

I use hi vis yellow for my jigs and plastics as well because I'm a line watcher. I just use a fluorocarbon leader.

I appear to be in the minority here. I use straight fluoro for plastics. I dont have a problem seeing the line. I use braid with a leader for jigs.

Try yellow braid with a fluoro leader. You can see your line move but the fluoro leader will make it invisible to the fish.

I use FC for soft plastics.  As far as high vis line, I like Senshi from Seagur.  It is new to me this year and so far it has not disappointed.  Out of the water it is fluorescent.  It is also visible under black light.

Where in Louisiana are you from

I'm having a hard time seeing my green PP for tossing jigs, so I am going to purchase some yellow 15/4 for the spinning rod and see if that helps. The leader is Seaguar 8lb.

Stren clear blue flourescent for these aging eyes, lol. I tried flourocarbon for a while, didn't notice a different in my success rate, even in gin clear water, so I went back to something I could see.

I use the yellow power pro, 20lb on spinning and 40lb on baitcasting, love the stuff.

I usually color the last 6ft or so with a black sharpie and or use a floro leader if I feel the need.
