Of All The Stuff To Want

So my girlfriend has decided if she is gonna ride on the back of a bike she wants arm rests and speakers. We test drove a Ultra Classic the other day. I'm fine with that. My Dyna doesn't have that, but whatever. So since selling the Dyna is NOT an option. I've been looking for a second bike. Mainly, Ultra Classics and Electra Glides. Then she discovers the monstrosity. A Polaris Slingshot. It is a three wheel "car". 2 in the front 1 in the back. With bucket seats, a radio, and roll bar. It is classified as a motorcycle due to the lack of 4 wheels. It's powered by a GM four cylinder engine and ungoverned will easily hit 175mph. All for the low low price of 20000 for the base model. 25000 for the Sport model. Plus a 3 month wait after purchase. I am fighting this tooth and nail. It just seem like a gimmick to me. Maybe I'm wrong.

I can't imagine that "thing" just by the description it sounds desperate. Stick with Harley.. Or find a new girlfriend.. Or.... Tell her to buy her own d**n bike! Lol!!

Raider, so much for your sabbatical. I knew you couldn't stay away.

For 20k you can buy a year or two old Electra glide. Even a 5-10 year old model. For far less. I love all motorcycles, but that is not a motorcycle. Even Merriam-Webster agrees.

: a vehicle with two wheels that is powered by a motor and that can carry one or two people

:an automotive vehicle with two in-line wheels

Make sure, whatever you buy for her, she gets the matching t-shirt that says "If you can read this the @#$%& fell off"

Tell her you ride BIKES, not Trikes.  Welcome back from your break.

Its not even a trike. A trike has one wheel up front. It is a snowmobile with wheels.

I had a Polaris 425magnum 4x4 bought new in 98 & sold in 2012.. It was a decent quad.. The Fiji motor was awesome. I hated coming downhill on it though, no engine braking ( auto ) tranny.. All in all it was a good ride...

Bi=2 wheels. Tri=3...wheels....so it's a azzbackwards trike. But we can compromise and call it a roadmobile.

I don't think my girlfriend would require that.

Decisions....Decisions....good luck.  She sounds high maintenance.

amazing you mention a Polaris Slingshot, i saw one in person on my way home from work this past saturday. i had no clue what it was or who made it, just that it was a 3 wheeler that looked like a cross between a car and motorcycle. then i read this thread, googled it and sure enough that is what i saw...pulling out of a winery no less...

tow a small flat bed trailer for her to roll around on as you ride bike.

They have one of those in stock at the place I just bought my small Tracker boat.  The salesman said that with the supercharger you can get way over 400 hp out of that.  Someone was test driving it.  Sounds really good.  It looks like a sci-fi transformer.

I saw a bunch of Slingshots at the recent Daytona Bike Week. Cool chic magnets , but I`ll stick with my Electra Glide a while longer.

I saw a cop eyeballin the condensation line on my saddle bag[full of beer and ice]Just shook his head.

DBWeek 75th coming next year==be there
