Hello Bass Resource,

 

I'm new to bass fishing despite spending most of my 49 years trout fishing in the California Sierra Mountains.  I'm not sure why it took me this long to get hooked on bass fishing but recently I needed an outdoor activity in between hunting seasons.

 

My first time out last month with my two sons shore fishing on nearby Lake Casitas, I managed to catch a 3 plus pound largemouth with a drop shot rig and a worm.  I'm hooked!! My last several outings have been no were near as exciting because the fish seem to have disappeared.  Little did I know they are spawning.  LOL...there is more to bass fishing than meets the eye.

 

I look forward to many years of bass fishing to come and am glad to find a wonderful place to exchange information and ask questions.

    Just joined. Reading these resources for upcoming August of smallmouth bass fishing in the Quetico Canoe Wilderness Ontario Canada. Clear deep lakes. I am reviewing material on dropshot fishing. Shopping for Dobyns DX702SF, and 1500 size reel. Learning a lot from this site.
