Tracker Boats Pro 170 Or Pro 175 Txw?

Featured Replies

I looked at the both the 170 & 175, but I am a big guy and felt more comfortable on the 190 TX. Check it out.

I had the 170 pro and now have a 175 TXW. Either one is a nice boat. I always keep them in my garage. One disadvantage of the 175 is its a foot wider so tough to get in a garage with a standard 8' door.

The 175 feels much bigger and is more stable when standing to fish on the front deck.

Now that I need to move, I'm finding lots of houses with 2 car garages with double 8ft wide doors and I wish I had my old 170 pro.

8 year old thread is back, so I'll put my 2 cents worth in.

I have a Tracker Classic XL.  (same dimensions as a Pro 170).   I didn't know anything about modern bass boats, and done very little research before I bought it.   I'm very happy with it, and plan on keeping it the rest of my life.  It's a luxury yacht compared to my previous boat I sold in 1992.   I have had zero problems with it.    However................had I known what I know now when I bought it I would have bought a boat that was a little bit wider like a 175, or something from X-press, Lowe or Lund.  I hadn't fished in 30 years.   I didn't know how much I'd end up fishing/using my boat so I went with the cheap option.  I looked at used boats, but they either were priced like new, or needed a bunch of work.  I work too many hours to come home from work to work on a boat.

Measuring the minimum distance between the 8’ garage door frame is usually a few inches under 96”.

Measure the widest distance of the trailer usually the outside of the fenders to determine that distance.

Keep in mind the trailer doesn’t need to go straight back through the garage door opening. If it’s possible to angle the trailer through the opening then straighten out after passing through you increase the clearance a few inches.

I'm familiar with this problem.  In the summer I'd park my truck in the driveway with the boat in the garage.  In the winter for 6 months, I brought my boat to a storage location (indoors) an hour away so I could park my truck in the garage.  That got pretty old.

So when I moved last year, one of the items that I said was mandatory on my list when looking for a house was a 3 car garage.  The wife was on board with this.  Now my boat is at home 365 days/year.

I do wish my garage was little bigger though.  I make it work, but another foot deeper would make a big difference.
