I'm gonna order a few swim jigs from Mike,money is tight, what is the best all around weight 3/8 or i/2 ? God Bless & Thanks

I usually use a half ounce unless really necessary to go lighter. It is more versatile, in my opinion.

3/8oz and 1/2oz are all I really use for swim jigs... I'd have to lean towards 3/8oz though.

x2. 3/8 is the best for me. Sinks at a nice rate and you can fish it slow without it hanging up in the weeds.  Add a Rage Twin tail menace and you're dynamite. 

3/8oz is deffintelly the best choice if your only going to get one size.

I agree with the Rage Menace and 3/8th.  I have luck with the cheap Terminator swim jigs.

3/8oz...better bouyancy.

I sell more 3/8 then any other weight.  Probably all weights combined.

Nah, 1/4 oz is good for slow and high in the water column. That's why it is important to have a variety of swim jig weights.

With a trailer 3/8s is preferrable. 1/2 oz. works too!

A 3/8 oz jig is probably the best 'all-purpose compromise'.

But here's the irony: the jig weights I use most frequently are 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz.

Although 3/8 oz is the mean weight, I don't use it as often as 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz.

I would say 3/8 if you only can get a view. Here's why, big bass will still bite smaller baits, but in those tough days you might need a smaller bait to catch a fish ( any size) and that 1/2 will just be to big and bulky in those days

I use a 3/8 ounce most often, but a 1/4 ounce in shallower water or over grass, and a 1/2 ouncer deep. You need all three IMO.

Any where from a 1/4 to 1/2 oz depending on the situation. I fish a lot of 1/4 since it is usually a lot of grass or fished shallow. It also depends on the trailer and what jig and some fish different. I almost always fish a paddle tail for s trailer.
