Sold my two cranking rods (705CB Glass and 765CB Glass) because I'd like to go with lighter weight rods. I don't know if I should get the 705CB and the 764CBRM.... or just get one cranking rod and a Carolina rig rod?  I would like other point of views and ideas here. 

 

Details:

I only fish 2 lakes: Neely Henry (Coosa River) and Guntersville (TN River).

I have the following Dobyns Champion Rods:

(QTY 1) 733C - Senkos/Shaky heads

(QTY 2) 734C - Spinnerbaits/Swimbaits/Topwater/T-Rigs

(QTY 1) 735C - JIgs

 

So, do I need a dedicated shallow crank stick.... and a dedicated deep crank stick.....

or would you do 1 crank stick and add a C-Rig stick? Or maybe something to punch mats on G'ville with a 1oz weight?

i'd prefer to use 2 different rods for squarebills and deep cranks. people say the 705 works okay /w deep cranks but i just don't feel it does. 

 

you can do the 765 flip route and use that for c-rigs and punching up to 1oz. (anything over, i'd opt for the 766) and get maybe the 764cb as it will fish both shallow and deep good but not the "best" too for each if that makes sense.

+1 on 705, DT10s no prob. Anything deeper ehhh

Which cranks do you fish more - shallow or deep?

I mainly fish squarebills and dt6 cranks. I have never caught a fish cranking deeper than 9'.
