Sorry,  if this question is a noob question..

 

I needed to find out how exactly this works..  I have spoken with boat owners and they tell me of a fill & aeration button..  All I have is a Aeration button, but it fills the livewell.

 

 

Some mention a plug...  I have no plug..  I just am looking for someone who can tell me the operations of how this works on my boat.

 

Only thing I can figure is when I turn switch on..  It fills and the second tube is just a run off...  It just doesn't seem like a very good set up at all.  The overflow I wouldn't think would keep up with the aerator pumping water into the live well...Anyone have this set up that can advise me of the works of it?

 

I am having to replace the pump and wanted to find out if this set up is worth keeping or if a modified setup is better.

The overflow probably unscrews to drain. I do know the overflow/drain drains into the bilge on the Trackers. I had a setup like that on my Mirrocraft. Like any livewell, Add fresh water and check on the fish periodically and you will be fine.

I believe some of the older ones had a plug and a separate overflow hole. On yours you overflow tube should pull out to drain it or unscrew as slow said. I do believe you overflow drains out the back though and not into the bilge area. You could modify it if you wanted, and either way it's going to use the same pump. Adding a flow-rite valve you can change things around so it will be a recirc system and only slowly add new water once full, but it's not a necessity. If you don't have one, you could also add a timer switch so it isn't just on or off, it will cycle and be on for a few minutes and then off for a few. That way it's constantly replenishing water but not filling it up so full that it runs out on deck. 

mine has a manual turn valve by the right side of drivers seat to close the dump valve... on the dash it has a three position switch-fill and aerate, aerate with timer and off. If gets rid of overflow from the fill pump by going out a tube that is below the level of the top of the well.

Thanks for your replies all.  I am leaning to just converting it into a cooler for drinks ect. and keeping the drain in place for easy draining of ice melting.. since the extra  room in the boat isn't huge. 

 

I do have one other question if I do decide to make it a cooler.  The aerator pump in the rear has failed and been taken out. Do they sell a plug that fits the hole for easy reversal if I wanted to have a livewell again?  Or make it an easy fix for when I do sell the boat it wont hinder the price of the boat.

 

I have found replacement fittings, but do they sell these made to plug a hole?  A nut and bolt type plug that doesn't have a hole in the middle?  Dumb question but I cant find one anywhere. I would think someone would have one

Where can I find a 2006 proteam 170TX manual? Just bought the boat with no manual.   Digital copy will work.  

My livewell holds soft plastics, tools, markers(buoy), and a spinnerbait wrap.

I have a 2012 160 pro deep v tracker. Can anyone advise how to drain the water from the livewell.

 

 

Probably just need to pull the stand pipe.
