Featured Replies

Hey guys ive been having tremendous luck with spinnerbaits on toledo bend, just wondering what rig would be best suited for spinnerbaits including, Rod Length and action, reel ratio and of type of line.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you are having tremendous luck, then just keep on keeping on.

I like a 6'6" - 7' rod medium heavy moderate fast tip. That rod gives you the range for light and heavy spinnerbaits. Reels, I would go for a 6.1 gear ratio. As for line I think any mono, copolymer in the 14-17 lb range. My opinion, a little stretch is good for spinnerbaits. Hope this helps.

Dobyns Champion 734/5 with a Lew's Tournament Pro 6.3:1 and Seaguar Red Label in 14lb test.

I use a Take a Tatula 7' 2" MH/R rod with a Tatula Type-R reel in 8.1:1 and I use 12lbs Izorline XXX line...

I like a 6'6" M to MH depending on size of spinnerbait wither a 6.4 reel spooled with 12-17# copolymer (depending on cover). I generally pick apart cover with the spinnerbait so accuracy is crucial.

I rarely throw a Spinnerbait but if I do it will be on 6' to 6'6" MH/F rods and the reels will be 5.8:1 and the line is 15# Big Game on both combo's. Not because they are perfect but because they are what I have for the job.

Tatula 7'1" mh Regular action is perfect for me. I use an original Zillion with 15# suffix siege but any reel with a little power will be fine

right now using an older shimano crucial 6'6 mh/f with a curado e7. same setup i use for topwaters and lipless cranks. ill probably swap the reel tho for a 6.1 ratio. it does tire the wrist a little bit. line is 15# mccoy xtra clear
