I have 1 Tourney MG and 5 Tourney Pros. I'd like to learn how to clean/oil them. I'm not very inclined on taking out a bunch of tiny screws, springs, clips, etc..... but keeping them in top working condition is a must. It also helps that have all Lew's reels so the learning curve shouldn't be too hard. Thanks for your help.

 

Start by working on the cheapest one.  I went on Youtube and watched a bunch of videos.  I'm sure you can find a specific video on a Lews reel.  Have a towel down or something to organize the parts as you take them apart.

I'd just send them to Mike at DVT if you don't want to deal with the parts or risk anything. He'll probably do a better job than you ever could anyways! If you do want to try it yourself, there are a lot of youtube videos on the subject. Consider taking pictures every step of the way when you disassemble to help you when you get confused reassembling.

Consider something like a muffin pan to organize your parts

Have the schematic on hand.

Take lots of pictures.

Lay out parts in order of disassembly.

I use a muffin pan for that part.

Take your time.

Have the right tools/stuff for the job.

Lay down a white cloth or t shirt.

It helps to see if you drop something.

Have a schematic in front of you and as was already said, a muffin pan or something like that to keep parts in an organized order. Be sure you have the proper tools before you start!! 

Mike has two of mine right now. I can do a general cleaning,oil,grease but he has the knowledge to go beyond the norm. That's what I'm looking for. I want the best out of my reels.

Talk to him it won't cost you anything to consider what he has to say.
