Favorite Glide Bait And Why?

Featured Replies

I actually have not fished any. Never found a reason to until now. People catch em good on them and they can be an excellent tool to find bass. What are your favorites? keep it sub $200 lures i.e. no Roman Made etc. I'm thinking Deps or ABT.

Derps too-fiddy.

I've never caught them good on it, neither caught anything over 3# either. But man, it's like they HAVE to come up, take a look at it, and follow it back. Which is all right with me; I just go after them with other baits once I find them.

Leave them bait thieves alone lol.

I have a few Dep's 175s and really like them. Like Deep said, even when they don't bite it they'll come up and take a look at it. Easy to fish and catches fish of all sizes. You can get them for relatively cheap too now.

Yeah Just having the ability to call them up is worth it. There is a small super clear water reservoir right near where I live. I was throwing a Hud 68 Special the other day and had a BEAST i.e. way over 10lbs. maybe 15 come up and grab it but it only got the tail.  Made me think I should try other types of swimbaits as well.

Can't go wrong with the river2sea swaver. Its cheap and catches fish

Deps 250 because

<----That

Deps 250. I have had some epic days on this bait. I took me a longtime to get dialed in with it and I lost a lot of fish early on. The big game would be a close second.

That's hard to say my "favorite" I don't catch tons and tons on a 250 mostly because of my geographical location but like said before its draw power has been key to helping me stick that fish with something else. Over all though for catching quantity and quality not to mention pretty fun to fish its easy a S-Song.

The glide lure I use most of the time is ABT 9" suicide in green trout because it weighs the same (4+ oz) as a 8" Hudd, so I use the same rod-reel combo. The Deps 250 BB trout requires a XHvy swimbait bait rod (3-10 oz rating) because it weighs close to 7 oz. and can wear you down fast without the proper gear....both are good lures!
