Spinnerbaits have never been producers on my two main ponds. I've crushed bass on them elsewhere, but not in my local waters. 

 

I'm giving chatterbaits a lot more time in the water. Trying to catch a fish on one. 

If I'm not catching anything on a T-rig, the next thing to come out of my tackle box is almost always a spinnerbait.  If anything, my crankbaits get neglected.

Sometimes the bass have.  Went to a place where one week the bass were almost insisting on spinnerbaits and then a week later...nothing.  They had "moved on" to soft plastics.  You just never can tell what fancy a bass might (or might not) have.

RoLo, I like the idea of this one (based on the Fin-tech Title Shot jig) but I'm not sure about that blade.

 

I usually only throw spinnerbaits in 2 situations. Fishing shallow for lmb/snakeheads in spatterdock/pads, and throwing a heavy ledge buster for suspended fish. Been targetting smallmouth almost exclusively this year, so the spinnerbaits have been gathering dust due to other techniques outproducing them. Once the water temps near 80 I'll start throwing those 1oz+ spinnerbaits and see how it goes.

If they are biting on other baits then i dont throw them much but always have one tied on a rod, if anything for a search bait and they plain Catch fish in most conditions...first rod i grab to start is my spinner or lipless rod.

Nope, they're a regular in the rotation and too versatile to ignore. If nothing else, spinnerbaits are a great way to weed out the pike before I toss something they could steal.

Thats kinda like only carrying just a screwdriver and pliers in your toolbox, what happens when they wont bite a jig or soft plastic?? Ive got stuff i dont use much always have one tied on or in my box...

Not yet. There are guys around here that will almost never cast anything else so I don't. They can be so 1 demensional it almost seems to complimentary to call them bass fisherman.

I just installed 4 rows of those same hangers in my boat. They're plastic and actually help keep the hooks from rusting and the skirts from gumming up. Cooks Go-To tackle is what mine are.

Not at all. In fact, like BlueBasser said, having them hang free and open keeps them dry and aired out; skirts nice etc...  I made that out of J-Channel used for siding and liquid-nailed it to the underside of the lid. I hate to take away from the manufactured ones but I got the j channel free from a builder buddy of mine, drilled the holes and 20 minutes later have a spinnerbait rack.

I will admit that chatter-baits have replaced big spinner-baits (in shallow water) for me, but I tell you what a 1/4oz spinner for burning/numbers can rarely get beat. It will always get time when the conditions call for it which to be honest, is a lot of them.
