It was a,bed of salmanea. Very light cover pitched a 5/16 tungsten. Busted through it with My missile baits destroyer. Now I'm addicted to this. Can't wait to punch through thick stuff

    Caught one this way today too. I was using a half oz tungsten and a dbomb. What a fun way to fish I felt the bite and got a good hookset. I'll be trying this alot more now. Now I need to get some bigger punching weights. Did you use a bobber stop?

    No I did not. My question is this I'm fishing in about 3-5 foot of water what weight should I pitch with just in case. Is 3/8 too much

    Depth doesn't dictate the weight you use when punching weeds, the thickness of the vegetation should be the deciding factor. I use 3/8oz a lot but our weeds aren't very thick (water willows mostly), but if I do get into some heavy milfoil or other weeds I'll go up to 3/4oz even in a foot or two of water.

    No to busy catching lol it was a solid fish though happened twice got 2 one keeper one drink. But it was fun. And yes very rewarding. I feel like it's the door mat to punching
