Hey guys I'm here because my friend thinks he's gonna be able to get a brand new 16ft mod v Jon boat with steering console , brand new 15hp motor , brand new trailer , and a 55lb thrust minn Kota bow mount for $2000 note he also wants to add in a marine carpeted deck and pedestal seat I just want you guys to tell me if this is even relatively logical thinking thank!

Granted you might be able to get one slightly cheaper at the dealer, but not enough to bring the package deal in at under $2,000.

He can probably get the trailer, accessories, rigging etc and the other stuff he wants for $2000, but not the boat and motor also.

He'll get in a decent used at that price - not possible to get in a new engine under 2k

I was going to have you tell him that I'd buy one as long as the price was accurate.  Heck, if we bought two, we might qualify for a discount.

You won't even find a used rig like that in my area for that price. In 2005, I sold my 1995 16' Sea Nymph tiller with 25hp, 55# bow mount TM, 55# transom TM, 2 batteries, 2 bank charger, 2 fish finders and custom cover for $4500.

For a down payment, yes.
