Opinions On Good Rod Around $100?

Featured Replies

I am looking for a 7' medium fast rod to pair with a Lews Tournament Pro reel. I can't afford 6 different combos so I'm looking for a suitable combo for a variety of baits. Just looking for some opinions on what I should get.

Abu Veritas.

I have a skeet reese spinnerbait/ worm rod 7' med-fast and i can throw spinnerbaits, plastics, square bills and some topwaters. Just nothing over 3/4oz.. most versatile rod i have...close to 100 retail

Veritas 2.0. The Medium is pretty light actually. What techniques do you want to use with it?

I've had a positive experience with products from shimano, st croix, and ***.  All in the $100-$200 price and I'd recommend them to anyone. If TW has 15% off the *** black I'd say that might be the rod to get.

*** "*** Black" or Fenwick "HMG" like them both alot :)

I plan to use it with as many techniques as I effectively can, because I can't afford specialized combos for all different lures.

Phenix Maxim.  A very over looked rod in that price range.  MH is more truly a medium though.

Also, I agree with everything said about the Mojo Bass.

People are gonna recommend what they like. Id recommend get a MH 7 ft. Any brand you feel comfortable buying. Veritas are good, omens are good. I use falcon bucoos and love them

What about the St. Croix Mojo Bass rod?

Hard to beat the mojo for a $100 budget.

I would get a Dobyns Fury.  Best sub $100 rod I have ever used.

Or you can get the Rage for the same price. St Croix has them for $99 in their bargain room. Really good rod IMO.

Dobyn's fury... I have 3! They are mean green bass catching machines!!
