I know most of us are probably fishing, but who's watching shark week? I personally love sharks and think they are awesome! I would love to catch and or dive with some!

I was trying to watch it last night but my son wanted to watch his show so we compromised and watched Umizoomie. It's not all bad though, the dance he does with that show kills me.

i saw a shark while we were swimming off some small island in key west about a month ago.  swam right behind the boat and the guy i was with called it a lemon shark.  as for me, i called it quits on swimming....

Love shark week. I used to wet wade some  back water salt  areas at night for trout and stripers . That is until I learned that bull sharks  have been known to frequent the place. Now I stay in the boat.

Looks like a blacktip? Don't bulls have really rounded snouts or does that develop more as they get larger?

I love Shark Week and watch it religiously each summer :)

Not watching shark week, have seen much of it before.

I have caught a lot of sharks, be careful of the species as many are protected.

The shark in the photo does not look like a bull, the head looks too thin but pictures can be decieving.  It does look like a black tip reef shark, not to be confused with a black tip shark, generally are in different water depths, ya never know where one will show up.  The last black tip reef shark I caught was in the area of 200#, took maybe an hour with conventional gear, pic in my gallery.  I don't care to target shark anymore, but I will go after spinner sharks, incredible acrobatics.  At my age makos are too big for me.

Honestly I'm not sure the captain and the first mate told me it was a bull

I googled around and looked at black tips and black tip reef sharks they have a more distintive black tip also more than one fin has a black tip so I'm not sure what it was but it was a fight I will never forget! I caught a 86 inch sail fish 2 years ago in ft lauderdale also next time I Wana do some inshore next year!

Yeah next July I'm going to Sanibel island and since the gulf waters are so calm I won't be able to catch any waves so I'll be surf fishing for Snook. Should be fun.

I have been watching shark week since it started, and to be honest it is getting a bit disappointing.

I used to like learning about all the different types of sharks and see the cutting edge new research methods.  Now it is all about finding huge great whites, while I love seeing huge great whites as much as the next, lets get it back to learning about all types of sharks.

One of my favorites this year was about the Mako sharks and the seven gills.  Pretty interesting stuff there.

Yeah I totally agree.  This year wasn't as good as the previous years.

The Seven Gill was a little weird. Mako's are cool, so the different guys getting speed readings with different methods was cool. I still love Air Jaws though! I like Discovery channel a lot, Street Outlaws is an awesome show. That has to be an expensive hobby trying to outfit those cars.

I was impressed  by the tiger shark that came up to the divers mask little more than a foot away.

Just recd a report that at least 3 short stripers were bitten in half  on fishermen`s lines. 4 to 6 foot sharks have been spotted right there.I have not seen that before in this  inlet.
