Fishing For Bass From A Jet Ski

Featured Replies

anyone ever done it?? I've been successful. It uses a lot less gas than a big boat.

I've seen guys go offshore in the ocean on them, rigged up electronics and rod holders.  I've seen on TV snowmobilers set them up similarly.

I've heard of guys using them to chase schooling white bass around during the summertime.

It is definitely ya popular thing in the saltwater crowd.  I would wonder how effective it would be chasing bass though since moving around an area it might be a little noisy.

Not a great "catching" video but definitely looks like it would be quite an effective setup.

I haven't done it, but if I could I would.  If you have regular access to a lake/jet ski, do it.  It looks like a ton of fun.

My brother-in-law lives in NC, and has a set up like the guy in Felix77 video. Likes it a lot. He fishes the big lakes they have outside Charlotte.

Where I am from, bass fisherman and jet-skiers have an issue with one another. Thus, this seems like taboo to me.

The first time you have to jump off to clean the impeller of grass/weeds you're gonna wish ya had a boat instead of a ski..

that's what intake rakes are for, at least for the jet boat crowds not sure if ti would still work for jet skis but i don't see why not

Ive done it but its a pain really. I used one at a freinds place on the lake since i didnt have my bass boat and the ski boat isnt an option. We rode over to some areas i caught fish before and it was ok once we got set up, just an adjustment for me to fish sitting down. The pain is trying to ride down the lake with the fishing poles, some tackle, an anchor, and keep it all on the ski with out losing it or hooking ourselves.

Maybe a breakthrough? Détente between fisherman and PWC'ers!

I've done it in the salt water about a mile off shore just drifting over reefs. It seems pretty challenging for bass especially since I'm always on the trolling motor. I rarely ever anchor at a spot or find wind/current that keeps me wgere I want to be. Its still got to be a fun challenge.

Kayak and stand up paddle boards use no gas at all.

No gas, just elbow grease.
