Hey y'all, just moved here from Morehead City, NC....fell in love with fishing a couple years ago. Since I don't live right on the coast anymore this is forcing me to bass fish more. Let me know if you guys know any good spots and the best lures and baits to use around here!

    Great having you with us, Aaron. We have a number of wonderful guys and gals in Virginia on his site and we are here to help you in any way we can regarding bass fishing.

     

    Please go to Tackle Express on Midlothian Turnpike near Robious Road intersection and pick up a free copy of the Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries Freshwater Fishing in Virginia booklet. Dick's, Green Top and BPS also have this publication as "should" Castaways on Jeff Davis Highway off Route 288 heading towards Chester.

     

    Check out the information and note the pages for the greater City of Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover counties.  You will find many places you can fish from the bank.

     

    I also noted you like to fish the Historic James River so check out the boat landings you can use which include Osborne Landing, Hopewell Marina and the Route 5 park ramp at the mouth of the Chick River.

     

    As for baits anything goes this time of year so give all a try until you find the pattern.
