Is Coke Really Worth It?

No soda in over 16 years here but then again I am the only person here that also does not eat any animal products either. I like to stay healthy.  The food we eat is the prime cause of all disease.

In other research, it has been determined that the #1 cause of death - is birth!

I'm a Pepsi guy personally but Coke ain't bad either.     I'm going to die someday and everything is killing me slowly, so I'm going to enjoy the ride

Anyway, I got a shot of insulin shortly after my diagnosis, and woke up the next morning feeling ten years younger. I'm in better shape now than ever at 43, and in better shape than many half my age. And yes, I still enjoy a coke, and have gelato every day. It's a "quality of life thing."

I'm always available for support if anyone runs into diabetes.

At 65 my goal is to keep fishing and try and keep up with the grand kids.....whew!!!

John you are a great example of someone who pays attention to his body and responds accordingly. You learned what was going on and took responsibility and appropriate action. Unfortunately many of us don't. Diabetes and obesity are closely related and are at epidemic levels in this country. They kill far more people than illicit drugs, yet the problem continues to get worse.

This link will take you to a couple of documentary videos that explore the causes and consequences of our dietary choices:

I don't disagree there, but not everyone that drinks coke becomes morbidly obese. In case you can't tell, I'm against sensationalism of any sort in order to make point, unless it's hyperbole for comic effect. Otherwise, it just makes suspicious. There's always a motive.

Diet coke causes cancer in lab rats.

I been drinking coke all my life.

Two years ago I developed prostate cancer.

I'm not sure what caused it but a lot of stuff we eat has cancer causing chemicals in it.

As soon as I took the testosterone meds my prostate cancer flared up.

The prostate cancer feeds on testosterone.

Go figure a combination of everything causes it.

I drink water and energy drinks.

More correctly, saccharin in huge doses caused cancer in lab rats - a species with high probability of getting cancer without any special additives. I don't know if any rats that died drinking Cherry Coke Zero. That has sucrolose and Aspartame, which is probably worse. Anyone remember those pictures from the 90s with all the cancer we were gonna get from cell phones?

I am a big fan of rats drinking beverages that are bad for them . I hate rats.

1983 living in a apartment sniffing $400 a week up my nose.

Said to myself " If you quit this , you could buy a nice house."

Quit and bought that house. Best d**n decision I ever made.

That's what I was waiting for, only I figured it would be Raider or Slone..

Nah, Raider's more of a weed/meth chaser/Molly kinda guy.

He's excited about being laid back in a smoooooooth sort of way.
