Sunline Fc Sniper Line Treatment

Featured Replies

I have been using this line for the last 2 years and have loved the benefits of it.

One of thing things I've noticed is on the 16lb size it seems a bit stiff after fishing with it a few times. Is there any line treatments or sprays you guys use that work well without destroying or ruining the line? Any suggestions?

i use 14 lb Sniper and was using KVD L & L , i didn't like the results so after respooling with fresh line , i didn't treat the line with L & L and it works fine , you just have to get used to the managiblity of the line . no more L& L for Sniper ...

Mmmm

Everyone is different.

I use L&L on everything. (Except mono as I don't use it anymore)

I use 14 lb Sniper on My dedicated plastics rod and really haven't had a problem. Never used 16# tho..

I use kvd L&L and have liked it so far. Just have to respool every year like most fluorocarbon.

Kvd l&l works well. I fish #16 myself, but don't treat it with anything. I usually forget about it.

Tangle Free works.

You use KVD L&L even on braid ?

You use KVD L&L even on braid ?

Allways..

I only use #65 or 80# braid for punching and 30# on my frog/swimbait setups.

While not actually "needed" for manageability, which most people use it for on other types of line, myself Included, I use it on braid because I'm convinced it helps the line come through very heavy vegetation cleaner and easier.

It also makes it easier to pull a backlash or wind knot out and cuts down on the "whine" I get useing the 65# on my micro guide punch rod.

Most folks on here will argue that there is no reason to use a conditioner of any sort on braid, and in most instances it's not.

But for where and how I fish with braid it's just another "tool" to make my life easier.

Sound reasoning !

Tangle Free II is formulated for braid, haven't used it because the braid I use has Teflon coating and doesn't need anything added.

just spray the line you put on your reel , not the whole spool ! that way if you don't like it , you won't ruin the whole spool . sure glad i didn't , i am using the other 100 yards without the KVD L & L and it's much better without it ....

My BPS was out of KVD Line and Lure,

I tried the Blakemore stuff,   I spooled the line off onto a spare spool, and respooled it back on using rag with the blakemores soaked into it.

(i use backing and only spool on 100 yards of FC at a time.)

My first outing i did notice a big difference with the Blakemore's.  I definitely could cast farther and it seemed to fly off the reel a better.

I plan to give the KVD L & L a try and see how it works out, has anyone else tried the Blakemoore's? anything positive?

Gino..

Never used Blakemoores, but Whatever you use try soaking a nylon sock instead of a rag, you'll use a lot less and get the same coverage.

Real Magic is the reel technition best friend, very few chemicals can gums up reel lubrication faster.
