I am looking for a line that is a little stretchy like mono, but sinks like fluro. I never use fluro because I don't like the stiffness of it cuz if I set the hook to hard it will break. I'd like to use this line for everything but flipping and maybe other stuff. Does anybody know if there is such.

Fluorocarbon mono is as stretchy as nylon mono. Just choose one of the more limp brands.

Or adjust your hooksets to fit the situation.

That sounds like any limp flourocarbon.

If you are breaking off with fluoro on hooksets then either you aren't using a good fluorocarbon, not tying good knots, or not checking your line for frays. Just try a different brand fluoro, and if that doesn't cure it then it's user error by not tying knots correctly or not checking for frays. Try Sunline Sniper, it's the best moderately priced fluorocarbon that I have used BY FAR.

If you're breaking off on hooksets....you're doing it wrong. There's a weak link in the chain somewhere whether it be the particular line itself, a bad knot, compromised section of line, ridiculous hookset, or any combination of those. Try a decent brand of line, I use Berkley Triline 100% and have yet to have an issue. If you're still breaking off figure out where the weak link is in your chain. 

Thx yall. I think it was invisx. My dad had some for crankbaits and I put some on a reel of mine and used it for crankbaits. I switched the reel to my worm rod when I went to a pond and used a Texas rig. It was #12. I only broke it one time. I could have made a bad spot in the line or something. It's just that I don't have a lot of confidence in it. I think I'm gonna try it again tho. I always use Berkley big game mono and like it.

my thoughts also i use 12lb big game in saltwater and fresh never had line or knot break unless i had a snag and pulled it by hand and even then id usaully break the hook first or it would just break free then if that didnt do it the knot next but never the line itself

You can easily break off during a hook set with 12lb FC if the knot failed and this is a problem with FC line.

Like any polymer line you need to feel about 3' to 5' of line by running it through your fingers to detect any flaws caused by abrasion or nicks in the line. A good FC knot is the San Diego jam knot, watch a few vedio's and practice tying this knot, wet it before snugging it tight.

So very true, you always give great advice.  The SD Jam knot is the absolute best knot I've found for fluorocarbon, I cannot imagine having more confidence in a knot.
