I know you can't mix elaztech with plastisol, but can you mix different color elaztech baits in the same compartment and have them retain original colors?

Yep, I believe so - can't ever remember having them bleed on me or having any other issues the times I've thrown a handful into a small box or bag and left them that way.

Yah, I've consolidated TRDs to a single bag and haven't had any bleed colors.

i've also mixed the trd's with no impact to the color

Make sure you keep ElaZtech in bags. I had it warp some of my 3700's.

Yes you can! I store mine in 3700 Plano with 2 colors per compartment (Z-man swim baits). No issues at all with temp either but did have a Berkley Grass Pig jump over in 1 of the compartments! It shrunk from 4" to 2" & infused right into 2 of the swim baits! Keep them totally separate from your regular plastics!

Well...how did it fish? Haha

Also FYI ~ Mend-it Glue does Not work with Z-Man Elaztech ~

It just sort of sits there and looks at you.

What are these baits made of? If they do that much damage to other baits and storage boxes, they can't be very good for any fish that swallows them. I think I'll pass!

If you're worried about a bass swallowing an Elaztech bait, you might want to read this.

Ach! Bummer, although ElaZtech is so tough it's less an issue. I did however use a CA glue on EZT to change the tail angle on a swimbait (with a wimpy tail! ); not sure if it'll hold.

Some research has come out since these observations were made and the conclusions have been that ingestion happens in the wild but has so far been shown to be rare -not enough to warrant population wide concern. Also, most ingested SPL's are excreted. Those most apt to become impacted were SP's that swelled greatly when in the water for some time. It is suggested that anglers take care not to lose SPL's or discard them in the water. Some tournaments apparently provide bins to collect spent SPL's. Most anglers I know are pretty stingy with their lures and spend time mending them.

As to toxicity, I dunno about ElaZtech. It's labeled "non-toxic" by the manufacturer mainly bc it does not contain pthalates -the chemical softener used with PVC to make SPL's. Some of these pthalates are more toxic than others but research so far is mixed about real environmental impacts. There are enough yellow flags though that I'm at least staying aware of the research and am being more careful with my use of SPL's. It's one of the reasons I'm interested in alternatives such as ElaZtech.
