Alright.. All lakes are frozen here in MN.. I want to travel out of state to find open water again. Any good places you guys have in mind? If your willing to share.

Try Texas, Florida and Louisiana.

Head to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and do some great fresh and saltwater fishing.

Fished all the way into December here in Buffalo. .. Now we have a foot of snow and the ice rink is up in the backyard. .. Needless to say, I miss fishing...

Look for power plant lakes in states near you

Florida, Texas, and Alabama.

Or you can come over here to Wisconsin, 70 and sunny.

 

Indiana has some good powerplant lakes I believe. That's probably the only chance you'll have to see open water until you get far enough south that you might as well drive to Texas or Florida. There's some open water here in KS but driving several hours to maybe see open water and having the even slimmer chance of catching a fish from it isn't really worth it IMO. There's powerpant lakes here too, but again, might as well just go all the way to Texas at that point. 

Ohio is freezing over.  Done till the thaw comes around...hopefully sooner rather than later.

We have a power plant river I fish a lot. But it's not the same as a lake.

Come on up. I'll tell ya some good lakes in central MN. or if your heading more north there's still lots of lakes that are worth fishing.. 

I love ice fishing but I would trade for year round bass fishing in an instant!

Nelson Lake in center ND is a power plant lake loaded with nice sized largemouth.
