Twist Lock Type Hooks

Featured Replies

Recently purchased a package of owner twist lock hooks at DSG for a whopping 2 cents. Package was mislabeled whahoooo!! Anyways I think I am going to like these. Normally they are very expensive about a buck a piece. I was looking into making my own and wanted to know if anyone else does and what they use. I was thinking of using a mustad 32886NPBN or mustand 91768NPBN hooks and the owner twist lock piece. Any advice on what hook might be better or a completely different hook that would work?(I will be using these for fluke/senko/Havoc Sickfish type baits)  Are the owner twist center lock twist pieces better than the other type you can purchase? Looking for recommendations. Thank you.

The Owner centerpin is the best twistlock design out there, and they're priced like it. Great for flukes and senkos though. I have a bunch I got on clearance at Academy for $1.47 a pack but I also make my own too.

I use these, http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=detail&hookid=945&view=1

paired with these, http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=detail&hookid=1009&view=1

Puts me at about $.30 a hook instead of $1 with the Owners.

Blue thank you very much. I found those hooks as I continued my search last night. I wish I could double like your post lol. I'm going to get to work on this.

I use the Mustad 32886 hooks as well, along with a centerpin twistlok exactly like Owner's except the ones I have were taken off the market. Lucky for me at the time I bought 4000 pieces, so I will have enough for a lifetime. It puts me at approx. same price as Bluebasser86 with the hook and the centerpin.

So you got them all? I bought like 25 off someone on ebay for a quality check and when I tried to buy more they were gone.

Allen,

I suppose so. I knew as soon as these hit the market, and Owner saw them there would be trouble and sure enough, a little short while later they were all pulled off the market. So now we all have to pay Owner what ever they charge
