Best $100 spinning bass rod and reel combo

Featured Replies

Wanting a good quality rod and reel for about $100. I will use it for mostly smallmouth and some pike. I would prefer spinning but if you have a good suggestion for a baitcasting setup that will work. Thanks for your help.

Pflueger President reel, and I've heard really good things about the Berkley Lightning rods.  I got the actual President combo a couple years ago and it's only $70 or $80, but the rod leaves something to be desired.  But it's not terrible.  The Pflueger Trion is also a good option and only about $40.

Definitely stay spinning.

I would just go and see what I could get a killer deal on.  DSG is in their mega clearance phase and people are selling awesome stuff left and right.

I've thought about the president but for some reason I just haven't bought it. What do you think of the Ardent Finesse

Pflueger President or Abu Garcia Orra line.

Pfluegar President with an Ethos rod from Academy when they go on sale. I have 3 different variations of that combo and they're all great for the money.

I bought a Trion for 40 bucks and got an Abu Villain from FFO for 60. For $100 I think I did pretty well. Can't wait to fish it!

Pick up a Abu Garcia black max baitcaster runs about $80 most places and it's amazing. Best bang for your buck! I've had mine for a year+ and have hauled some big bass in with it no problem! Posibly best rod/reel combo out there
