  • His smile couldn't get any bigger!

  • During conditions that were unusual & much more challenging than most expected, he fished hard, made the right decisions and some critical adjustments. Had his water all to himself & boat

Just like Mercer said, Christie didn't lose the tournament, Edwin won it. WolfyBrandon

Certainly not what many thought it was going to be - the first Day was a Grind.

Live commendation made all kinds of excuses.

Made it sound like the best in the game needed the best of conditions on the best lake to catch them.

We can do that.

Sometimes the bite is just not there - no excuses needed.

Agreed. Although they did mention repeatedly how a lot off the top 10 were almost identical in strategy to guys like Ike and KVD pulling just a handful of fish.  Most of that lake looked like chocolate milk, man.  Messy water + post frontal + no wind = one rough day of pre-spawn fishing.

Tough day, a few guys caught them well but most didn't get a limit.  It will be interesting to see how tomorrow plays out.

I picked Alton Jones to win so we will see if he can pick it up and jump to the top spot.  I am glad KVD is doing poorly...I just don't like the guy for some reason lol

What is it with you & guys who win . . Is it because he looks sort of like Brady ?

What ever Jason is throwing its working.

Today seemed even tougher than yesterday.  What a ridiculously tough tournament. Yesterday's leader (who seemed to be one of the few to figure anything out) only put up approx 10lbs and is still out front and KVD got skunked.

By all accounts and based on the Live coverage - sure looked like another grinder of a bass fishing day.

At least it wasn't pouring rain or worse - but the fish certainly were not in a biting mood.

Might be a while before they hold another one at this venue or at this time of year at least.

As a fan, I want to see Bass caught - several & big ones - has to be a better way than this -

Watching it (and listening to it) is like root canal without the local anesthetic ~ Painful.

I appreciate the effort but it's like watching a zero to zero tie at the Superbowl . . .

I kind of enjoy the fact they are having to fight for bites, being the best in the world tough conditions is a good test. We all do it why not them?

Wow, forgot the Classic was this weekend and looked at the leader board and several top sticks blanked! Any of the top 10 can pull this off, but can't remember a leader on day 1 blanking on day 2. Sunday should be a shoot out.

Been here all weekend.... with Christie having a 6lb lead not only would he have to fall on his face tomorrow but someone in the top 5 is gonna have to WHACK them.

It's Christie's to lose. I'm hoping he gets his home lake win.

10lbs??? More like 16lbs 11oz

Looks like the fish turned on today. A couple guys seem to really have them figured out this morning.

Christie didn't want know about BassTrakk, but someone decided to "Clue Him In"....  Now Christie is fishing waaay faster... STOP FREAKING OUT!.... well Edwin does have 20+ LB so maybe freak out a little bit... ;)

Christie has run twice since he found that out. I think he's starting to lose the head battle on this one.

But only time will tell.

Christie is still down a fish with head room, Christie has the right idea saying "I'm going to catch all I can catch", I'm just worried that he might be fishing too fast at the moment.

He is fishing too fast now, he needs to slow down like they said and just keep fishing methodically like he has been.

However it seems that he hasn't really adapted his pattern to the wind conditions that are supposed to keep getting worse.

I hope A Mart gets on a roll in the last two hours like he's known to and come from behind!
