Abu Garcia Villain rod

Featured Replies

I got my Bass Pro Shops ad today. I see they have the Villian rods on sale from $180 down to $79.97. Any thoughts on these rods? Given the $100 price drop I'll assume it's a decent deal.

I own a 7'1" MH fast that I love. A bit on the more stiffer side, but all in all its a nice rod.

Good rods for 80 bucks

I've been wanting to pickup a 6'9" ml spinning to add to the arsenal.

Saw the Villian on sale monday at BPS and pulled the trigger, figured why not for 79.99

Where can I find the deal at?

I'm not sure if it's available online but definitely in the store at Bass Pro Shops.

I have 4 of the 6'9"ml cranking rods.  I picked up two when tw put them on sale, and liked them enough to pick up two more a month later.  Hard to find a ml/mod rod that isn't a buggy whip.  This is a crisp rod that will fling little baits a long way but also has quite a bit of power.  I think it's a special rod in that flavor, but it's the only model I've held/fished.

They are definitely on the stiffer side.  I have a 7'3 H w/ micros that's an absolute broomstick.  I rarely fish it because of that. It's a nice looking stick and is pretty sensitive.  Totally worth it for $80.00.

It sounds like a medium would make a nice medium heavy in this line of rods.

I just looked online, looks like you have to go in store for this deal.

I got over to BPS today I picked up the last ML. After a gift card and credit card points it cost me less than $35.
