What is a good lipless crankbait

Featured Replies

Other than a Rattletrap, lol. If Rattletrap is good, let me know! I haven't fished this type bait in 40 years. Lately, I have two reports of good numbers. A friend told me today he and wife caught 67 bass last outing! I know where he fished, we'll see! Do you have a favorite brand/model? What type of line, I guess fluorocarbon or mono? I don't fish much open water and don't like losing baits but I have some spots to go, plus I bought a plug knocker, lol.

I think cotton Cordell makes some cheap ones. Of course there's rat l traps. Strike king probably has a KVD and I absolutely love their squarebills.

Unfortunately I haven't successfully fished squarebills before so I'll just shut up now and let someone more expirenced than me give you some advice.

I grew up a Rat-L-Trap kid from my dad, now we both love the strike king red eye shads. Great action, great finishes/selection. A lot of guys on here like using multiple brands due to subtle differences than seem to make a difference sometimes.

Red Eye Shad is just about all I throw anymore. Great bait.

BTW, is there a size that is best for bass numbers rather big ones?

Rattletrap, Strike King Red Eye Shad, Booyah One Knockers, and Spro Aruku Shad are all great and will catch a lot of fish in the right circumstances. I like the 1/2 ounce sizes best.

Another vote here for the Strike King Red Eye Shad. I have caught countless fish on the gold and black back finish.

+1 to the Rat-L-Trap and Strike King Red Eye Shad!  The LuckyCraft LV series are also awesome but pricey.

SK Red Eye Shad!

Rippin rap by rapala and the red eye shad are my favorites

Im interested to try the spro aruku shad, anybody have very much experience with them?

Good burner baits. Stock hooks are sharp.

I throw a spro aruku when I want to fish fast. When I'm yoyoing it's a red eye shad or lvrto. The rattle traps catch a lot of fish but a lot of them aren't lmb

I've had success with Rat-L-Trap, great success with SK Red Eye Shad and their 2-Tap, also the new Berkley Warpig was a huge success for me. I'm a straight braid fisherman.

The 2-tap with the unique sound, that is interesting. Hmmm.

Do you guys have favorite colors?

Can't say I have a favorite color but I caught 19 over the weekend on these. Top right is the 2-Tap I was throwing.

You can spend more money if you want, but imo, nothing works better than a Rattletrap.

I've used a whole bunch of makers too..
