Sunline FC Sniper

Featured Replies

I'm going to try some Sniper on one of my combos.  What # test would you guys recommend?  I mainly fish weighless senkos, flukes, spinnerbaits.  The rod will be 6'9" MH/F action.  Leaning towards the 14# test since it runs thin.  It will be more of an all purpose setup.

12-15lb test.

I plan on trying some this year also.

I'm thinking about putting 20lb on my jig and heavy t-rig rod, 15 on my light t-rig rod.  I have heard nothing but good things about it except for the price.

I've only used lighter tests of the sniper, but can attest to its quality. I highly reccomend it to anyone who asks about fc. Even on spinning gear. I use it as leader material a ton and the thin diameter doesn't mean weaker or less abrasion resistant. A quality line for sure.

Go with the 14# if you want to, you won't go wrong. I personally use 12# in heavily weeded grass and have never had a break off. It's pretty strong.

Would you be comfortable throwing 1/2 spinnerbaits on the 12#??

Yep I would! I throw that often on 12# FC Sniper!

I use 16# Sniper on my bottom contact setup for medium to light cover and wouldn't change.

However, personally I wouldn't use such a quality line on a moving bait presentation. But that's just me.

It's perfect for that! You'll love it I'm sure.

Probably going for the 14#.  I'm a little gun-shy with the hookset using 12# when t-rigging.

Thanks for all the responses.

I think that 16# test is perfect, use it on my plastics and spinnerbaits rigs. It is actually thinner than the 14# test I use to use.

I currently use the 14# Sniper FC for jigs, and I must say that it's a great line. I had no issues so far, it's also a very strong line

Been using #16 for roughly 3yrs now. Can't beat it for $20

yeah i have 16# on my jig and worm rods and love the sunline, it changed my negative opinions on fluoro.

I use 14lb on my worm and jig rod. Love it.

Im using 16# for my jigs and tex rigs, 15# yellow power pro slick 8 for visibilty on senkos.  Only flouro ive liked better for jigs n tex rigs was tatsu, but its not in my budget.

One thing i will reccomend is kvd line n lure spray and use it regularly, on any flouro. I spray it when i spool and again each bite before i go fishing the next day.
