topwater line question

i have a 6'2 m/xf st croix avid im gonna try for topwater this season. rated for 8-14lb line.  i have a spool of 15lb defier armilo that i havent used.  would it be ok to use this or should i drop the line poundage any?

Yes that will work and that is an awesome topwater rod for poppers and smaller walking baits. I like mine for jerkbaits also.

yea i cant wait. id been using a 6'6 but needed something a touch shorter and not as stout.  planning on using it for jerkbaits as well. and maybe other things when im in tight places.  gonna spool it up and try it out this weekend

I have 11# on my D684cb, great line, works very well.
