This was definitely a first. 

I don't know what caused it, but I am seeing more and more bass with black blotches on them around here.  I sure hope it doesn't kill them, if it does the fishing is about to get a whole lot worse.

I'd say one out of four fish I caught today had black splotches.

It's a pigmentation that bass often get when the water is cold and it's actually a sign of a healthy fishery, no need to worry about a thing. 

You can put lipstick on a bass==============but=================its still a bass

It's in the roof of the fishes mouth, just back there a ways. Should have been a really easy removal.

You're right... got my screen dimmed and just saw a line going into nothingness. :)

I was told that by a guide on Table Rock after I caught 3 pound largemouth in the spring that had splotches all over. After he said it I thought back to all the others I'd caught. All of the were in colder water months and all of them were from healthy fisheries, so there must be some truth to it.
