Nice spot!  Hard to tell from photographs, but looks to be about three pounds.

For a size comparison the spot in the pic was right at 5lbs

Did you take the length or girth measurements?  That would make it easier to get an accurate estimate.

I measured it and it was right at 23 inches.

Oh, then I was way off.  Sorry about that.  A 23 incher would probably run about six or seven pounds.

Here's one that weighed 3lbs 1 ounces I caught the other day

That's the number I had in my head. Just couldn't take the chance of it dying trying to find a set of scales

Wish we could get a 23" spot around here. Thing would be a tank! This picture shows the build of our spots.

I believe they've officially decided that the Alabama spots are a different strain of spot that the Kentucky spotted bass. They're basically the spotted bass version of a Florida strain largemouth.

Coosa Spots, indeginous to the Coosa river and its impoundments.  Although, i'm not sure if that's where the OP is fishing.

Besides California, if you fish some Alabama or Georgia waters, you've got a shot at some big nasty spots!

Nice fish!  This is one of those where the pic can be very misleading for weight guessing.  I would have never guessed that was a 23 inch fish and since she isn't packing a big belly she looks smaller in a pic.

That's one of those fast moving river spots. We catch some footballs out of the lakes. I'm 6'4 260 lbs so that doesn't help make them look any bigger

Nice fish it does look pretty long and your not long arming it lol

one look at those tails in the OP's pics or your fish tells you all you need to know about them putting up a fight....  those big wide tails turn them into torpedoes!!  those LKN spots are mean little fish for sure!
