I'm waffling back and forth between going with mono or going with flouro and then I remembered people talking about a co-polymer line which blends both and i just wondered if it's worth it? I think you can get 600yds. on Amazon for like $12. Does the diameter match up with flouro/mono or is it like braid and doesn't match up lb. for lb.?

Its quite a bit thicker than most mono. The diameters are listed on their website, you can compare it to the dia of your favorite line. Most people like throwing 12lb hybrid because the dia is closer to 15# and the breaking strength is high as well.. its really 14-15# line marked as 12#. 

Worth it? Yes. Great line.

I use 4#, 6#, 8#, and 15# in green (as leader).

It's a great copoly line. I use #6-12 on a regular basis. It's actually not any thicker than most of your #12 mono lines from other companies but the #12 has a breaking strength of 19lbs.

Yz Hybrid #12 = .013

trilene xl #12 = .013

big game #12 = .014

No.  Go with the original formula it is much better.

Have to agree. I did not like the Ultra Soft as much
as regular Hybrid. Ultra Soft was "milky" in color
compared to clear with regular (in green, that is).

Hmm.. since I posted that I wasn't sure if it was accurate so I went outside and grabbed mine. I have a new spool of 12# hybrid in my left hand right now (600 clear) and a spool of trilene xl (330 green) on the desk. Both say 0.13 and the yozuri both feels and looks thicker when put together in my hand. Which one is lying to me? I bet its those dang pure fishing people

I select Yo-Zuri Hybrid by actual breaking strength rather than advertised pound test.  I think it's pretty thin for its actual breaking strength.  I used to have a chart saved with the Yo-Zuri line breaking strength, diameter, etc., but I can't find it.  It's my favorite non-braided line.

Go with Yozuri Hybrid Original. You won't be sorry. Treat it with KVD line conditioner and it will last you a very long time. Great stuff, and very economical. Good luck!! 

I'm just going to throw this out there but Izorline XXX (actual copolymer) you can get at *** for 16.99 for a 1700yd spool depending on the size. Also similar breaking strength to YZ.

But YZ is great too, I have it in 6 & 8lb for finesse applications and I like the smaller spool size.

I have the clear US in 6/8/10 

The pic I posted in show and tell of my recon/tdz combo has #6 US on it. You can see what they say about being milky. I don't find it to be bad line though. Breaking strength is lower on it. I emailed yozuri about that about a year ago. It was $18 for 3 - 600yd spools so I decided to try it. 

The line is well worth it...It is amazing line!

I've been using the Ultra Soft in 10# for the past month and it seems pretty stout. I like how supple it is.  Feels more like 12# to me in strength.  I'll probably try the original soon. 

From my experience the line was great the first few outings then it required kvd line and lure. It also didn't do too well in freezing conditions. It may have gotten ruined by the extreme temperatures changes but that's my only guess.  Ever since I went 50/50 braid and fluoro spooling my reels hasn't cost me nearly as much. 

Edit: At $12 for 600yd its a cheap and easy way to spool a boat full of reels and it works well. 15lb was tough as nails and hard to break off when snagged.  I've found lines I prefer more. 

I have 12lb on my all purpose set up and I definitely have no complaints, dont plan on switching it out any time soon.

I was also under the impression that it was thick the the poundage. Interesting to know it isnt.

I use 12 & 15# on my casting reels and it's done me well for years, its good stuff! 

Bought two spools of yo zuri way back, 6 and 12 pound. Used 6 as leader and 12 on bc. I thought the line kinked up both on the reel spool and line spool. Maybe I got 2 bad batches but I'll stick with other brands. 

I have used it off and on for years. It is certainly worth the price. It is best used with KVD L&L. It may not be the easiest to manage, but for strength and abrasion resistance you can't do better for the money.

This topic has been covered quite a bit lately. Use the search function and you'll get some suggestions. I'll add I bought Yozuri hybrid recently and have been pleased.

I'm a big fan of YH and highly recommend it.  Compared to fluorocarbon it is FAR more manageable IMO.  A little line to line conditioner and it's as supple as any mono I use.  

As far as other copoly's to try, I like P-Line CX Premium and it is thinner but very close to the breaking strength where YH is a little thicker but above breaking strength.  I think a good comparison would be 8 lb CX and 6 lb YH... Try them out and see which one you prefer.

I think Yozuri Hybrid is worth it for the price. Plus it is sold in bulk which is another plus.
