Whose Jumping On The Curado 70/71 Bandwagon?

Featured Replies

I'm so close pulling the trigger, really thinking of the the 71XG.

If you have this reel, how is it and is it just a smaller version of the 200/201I?

Not I.   Am considering one of the Shimano JDM reels....specifically the Stile 101XG, but may go with the Alphas Air.

I'd like to let the air clear from all the hype before considering a 71.

EDIT:  Check out the "Curado 70XG first...and second impressions" thread on TackleTour for a little more insight into this reel.

I have a Curado and Scorpion in the 70 sizes. I like them both very much and they fit my hands about perfectly. Just landed one of the biggest fish I've ever caught with the Curado 70 XG Friday, along with a bunch of "normal" sized fish, so I've put it through some paces. I'm thinking if I can boat this guy with one, it'll handle any bass you come across.

Wow that is a big cat.

I love the Shimano 50 sized reels I didn't need much convincing.  I have both but I haven't been able to really test them out as I just got them a few weeks ago. I will be testing them out this week though on pike!

I bought one.   I like it.   The braking system is a little different from the Curado 50 and the Chronarch 50 that I'm used to.  There is a learning curve, as far as knowing how to adjust the brakes go, which I haven't totally figured out yet.

I've settled with all four on, and spool with no play. Took me a while too. Not like the E's.

It is different for sure

I have mine set on 2 brakes and the dial on 3. Works well for me.

Took me a few days to get it dialed in. As did my 200i. Certainly not as easy as the e series. But still very awe some reels

As fat as she was, there may be a bass in that picture, you just can't see it.

I'm in love with mine, I think it palms great. I prefer the 200i handle I think, but I think this is a amazing little reel.

I love mine for finnese baits and flipping them. I caught 12 the other day doing that with a weightless senko with 12 pound in invisx.

That ain´t no bass so it don´t count.

Now, back to the subject in question, who jumping on the bandwagon ? well, certainly not I, you are not going to believe it but I´m done purchasing reels, actually I´m done purchasing rods, reels and fishing stuff :shocked2:, unless it´s something really truly very special.
