Question for everyone, 

The BAITMONKEY is in my ear again telling me I need swim baits a chatterbait trailer. My question is before I go out and appease the monkey can I use the Baby Brush Hogs that I already have? Will they work just as good?

I gotta tell ya, keeping the monkey at bey is getting to be a real struggle?

Sorry my English some times is atrocious.

Can you use them ? ----> there is no commandment sayin´ : Thou shall not use Baby Brush hogs as Chatterbait trailer.

Will they work as good ? ---> you´ll never know if you don´t try

What other baits you can try: twin tail grubs, paddle tail swim baits, crawfish, space monkeys, single tail grubs, swim senkos.

I have tried grubs, craws, worms and some different creatures and here is what I can tell you. Craws with flapping claws work better than ones with regular claws and the same thing with creature baits. I found that baits made to swim work better with a chatterbait because the added action seems to help with the swimming of the bait and the searching type action it generates, baits that have more drag seem to hurt the action of the chatterbait more than they draw fish to them. Now, just as Raul mentioned, there is no rule and you really don't know until you try it but based on what I've witnessed I'd say that it would probably work to a certain extent because it really isn't bulky but the side appendages are large enough that it could possibly hurt the hunting/searching, side to side motion of the chatterbait and rather than take a chance I'd get a pack of BPS speed shads or something like that which will be much more effective.

Swim senko is my favorite but I suppose any soft plastic will work in one situation or another.

You could probably use the brush hog if you trim off the side appendages and shorten the overall length of the brush hog to fit with the chatterbait you're using.

I've used baby and full sized brush hogs trimmed down and the both work. They're not something I use regularly, but in a pinch they work well enough.
