Zoom Ultra Vibe Speedcraw on a 3/0 offset worm hook.  It's like a bowl of m&M's on your coffee table, even if you are not hungry you'll grab one.  Same with bass and little craws.  If the bait allows, try to use a regular offset worm hook as opposed to an EWG. Bass sometimes smash the bait into the bottom, the deep offset of an EWG will roll the bait left or right when a Bass tries to pin it down.  Think of a sailboat on it's keel up on land and a giant flying air breathing bass smashes down on it. It will fall to one side and the hook point can rotate away from the fish.  Just give it a try..

Also try:

Flukes

Small swimbaits (3" or so)

Centipedes

Smoking Roosters.

The one that catches fish ?. In all seriousness there is no one magic bait. I use the zoom lizard a lot but just as an example about 3 weeks ago I was throwing the lizard and caught 3-4 decent fish then they just seemed to shut off. Tried a craw then a centipede nothing tied on a 6" watermelon worm and  got 3 more before I went to throwing other stuff (cranks spinners and such) . During the whole program I never moved the boat more than about 6 feet so I guess what this long winded rambling post is trying to say is you kinda have to experiment and find out what their looking for.

Lizard or Baby Brush Hog has always worked for me

Baby Brush Hog. I've caught numbers on it when nothing else worked and I also caught my old PB on it. As others have said though, a lizard works too.

The small RI Sweet Beaver for me. I didn't catch many good fish on them so I don't use them anymore really but it sure does get bit rigged that way.

For numbers, I'd suggest a small lizard (3" - 4") or other small creature bait
