Jig rod

Featured Replies

I am going to be pirchasing a new rod soon.  I would use this mainly for jigs but also occasinally texas rigs. I was wondering what you all think would be the best all around rod?

Thanks!

Most any MH/F rod in the 7'-7.5' range will make a decent jig rod. I have used none of the rods you're looking at, but given the options, I'd go with a proven and trusted company like Fenwick. I'd certainly look at some of the new St. Croix Mojos, or an Okuma Citrix in that price range. The Okuma rods and reels are a very overlooked option IMO. If you haven't tried one, you're missing out.

I'll also throw the Abu Ike Series 7'2" in the mix as well, for this price range.

The Daiwa Tatula is one of the most sensitive rods you can get in its price range. They still have some on Walmarts site and I think Amazon has some as well for around $100
